Bini’s Kitchen at 1001 Howard

Photos by Mariko Reed for David Baker Architects

During my tenure at David Baker Architects, I spearheaded both the architectural and interior design of a tenant improvement project for Bini’s Kitchen in San Francisco. This 1,500-square-foot project encompassed the creation of a complete commercial kitchen alongside an inviting space for casual dining and take-out services. Drawing inspiration from Bini's rich narrative, delectable cuisine, as well as the captivating artifacts and heritage of Nepal, we crafted a vibrant and inviting environment that warmly embraced the local community.

The space features two custom murals by Jen Bloomer of Radici Studios. The one shown here tells the story of owner Bini Pradhan’s life, and another depicting the community created around food.
